Villa Freisleben

The villa in neo-classicism style with franglais parts of art nouveau, is located in Dresden’s ritzy villa district of Blasewitz, and has direct access to the Waldpark – a 23-ha park complex with beautifully laid out paths.

Guests at the Villa Freisleben can experience a piece of Dresden’s urban history. The prestigious villa with park-like gardens was built by the architect Hans Paulick on behalf of the Freisleben family in 1916.

The villa emerged unscathed from the Second World War and Dresden’s night of bombing.

In the early 90s, the building was extensively renovated by the owners, upholding strict monument protection regulations, and the Aparthotel Villa Freisleben was opened in 1994.

In 2009 the Villa was leased by the current operator. He has renovates the building.

Numerous lovingly prepared details inside and outside the villa serve as reminders of the fascinating Art Nouveau style of architecture. The stucco ceilings draw your attention as magically as the stained glass windows in the former music room. Another eye-catcher is the over 90-year-old wall fountain in the lobby, made from original Meissen ceramics, and which was originally located in on the first floor.

You will find this unique architectural gem from the early 20th century in most books on Dresden’s villa architecture.
